![]() CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS REVIEW?!?!? They couldn't even spell my name right!!! The GOOD TIMES magazine of Long Island is such a disgrace to our scene. This was my response: Thanks for the review in the current paper. I just wonder why it seemed so harsh. "Relentlessly self-promoting"? I thought that is what you were supposed to do to make a name for yourself!! And the press kit is supposed to stand out from the pack. So far you are the only one who hasn't said "That was awesome!" I'm not even stretching the truth. And if it sounded like a CD recorded onto a cassette (who does that??) I would not have embarrassed Phillip Jimenez. You say "many websites" trying to re-enforce the idea that I am relentlessly self-promoting, but any hardworking band does EXACTLY what I do!! I am glad I am impossible to define. I know it only makes your job harder to do, and you really don't seem to be up to the task. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU SPELL MY NAME WRONG IN THE TITLE!! The Smithtown News article/interview spelled it right. The New York Times article spelled it right!! Not you guys. The only paper worse than you is the Aural Fix. I sent him a check for a one-year subscription almost 3 months ago and haven't heard back from him. The check was posted though. You should try some relentless self-promotion, maybe then your publication wouldn't languish in piles to be reclaimed every two weeks. I never did send them this letter. Instead I gave them a big thanks for choosing me out of the countless cd's they must receive. Funny though... my previous release was sent to them in a plain envelope with just a single page of info, and guess what? They never reviewed it!! (long sigh..........) |
